Donate to us
We rely on the generosity of our community to be able to keep our centre running. All donations, big or small, allow us to continue our work helping families in Leith.
When you donate, why not add a note and tell us where you want your donation to go? This could be buying ingredients for Messy Play, snacks for creche, towards our counselling service, or outdoor equipment for Little Explorers. It’s up to you! Can’t choose? We’ll distribute your donation to where its needed most in the centre.
Friends of Dr Bell’s
If you appreciate what we do and have a little extra to spare, consider becoming a Friend of Dr Bell’s and making a regular monthly donation. Even just £5 a month, the price of a coffee and a cake, can make a huge difference to us; providing healthy snacks for children in our crèche or allowing us to go the extra mile to support a struggling single parent.
As a Friend of Dr Bell’s you will receive a tote bag, hand printed in Leith just for you, so you can spread the word whilst out shopping, as well as updates on what we’re up to and the impact your donations are making.
Signing up will take less than 5 minutes and will set up a secure direct debit which you can cancel at any point. If you are a UK tax payer please say yes to Gift Aid and allow us to claim 25% extra on your donations.
Fundraise for us
Want to take on a challenge and raise money for Dr Bell’s? There are so many fundraising possibilities that you could take on. Keep an eye on our social media channels, or get in touch with fundraising@dbfc.org.uk to find out what challenge events are coming up. Have something else in mind? Then we would love to hear about it! We can support with getting your fundraising page set up, and giving you Dr Bell’s materials to help promote your cause.
Other ways to support
Edinburgh Community Lottery – Dr Bell’s has joined the Edinburgh Community Lottery! Tickets cost just £1 per week, and we recieve 50% of all proceeds. You can win up to £25,000 and that’s on top of the monthly bonus prize draws.
Easyfundraising – Want to support Dr Bell’s, but aren’t able to donate? Then easyfundraising may be the answer! By signing up, we can receive donations from the websites you already shop at. There are over 7,000 brands on board ready to make a donation – including eBay, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com and M&S – and it won’t cost you a penny extra to help us raise funds.
Dr Bell’s Shop – Support us and promote Dr Bell’s at the same time! We have four items available to purchase, with all proceeds going back into the centre.
Business Partnerships
Charity of the Month/Year
A charity partnership with Dr Bell’s is a great way to support us and provide enriching opportunities for your staff and customers. This could be bake sales, adding a donation to every customer’s bill, collection cans, staff Kiltwalk teams, or anything else to suit your size and activities.
Corporate Volunteering
We are able to host corporate volunteer team days, providing a fantastic opportunity for team building and boosting morale. We have many opportunities available, from maintainence and admin, to more specialised support based around the sector you work in.
Gifts in-Kind
We accept in-kind donations of resources and equipment for our groups and creche, household items to distribute to families, and prizes for raffles.
One off Donations
Donations from businesses are an important part of our funding, and a great way for your business to give back and contribute to the local community.
